TOP STORY: Hiddink says Hazard is happy at Chelsea
He was back to his
best at Bournemouth on Saturday -- and Chelsea
starEden
Hazard is happy with life
at Stamford Bridge again, the Guardianreports.
It quotes interim
manager Guus Hiddink as saying Belgium star Hazard, who scored twice in a 4-1 win over the Cherries --
his first Premier League goals of the season -- remains "one of the
best" players around despite a turbulent campaign for both him and his
club.
With reports
suggesting Hazard has informed incoming Stamford Bridge
boss Antonio Conte that he would be happy to stay put, Hiddink said: "I
think that this season he had a very difficult season, falling into injuries,
coming back, playing half a game and then falling back into injuries.
"It's been
frustrating. But when he is there, fully fit physically and mentally, he is one
of the best. What I know he is very happy with everything in Chelsea
and around Chelsea."
Hiddink said Hazard
was a "very important" player for the club and stressed that, if he
could stay free of injuries, "he will be very important" for the
Londoners again next season.
Mario Milan move could go full-time
And so the Mario
Balotelli saga rumbles on and
on -- and now it seems AC Milan could be keen to make his move back to the San
Siro permanent after all.
It's only a short
while since new AC Milan boss Cristian Brocchi told the striker he needed to
look at his situation after what has been a disappointing, injury-interrupted
spell on loan from Liverpool.
Balotelli appears
to have no Anfield future under Jurgen Klopp and has been told by Brocchi that
"if a player thinks he can decide the match by himself, that's not
right."
But now the Sun says Milan are "keen to keep goal-shy
Balotelli," who has scored only once in Serie A this season.
Citing a report in
La Gazzetta dello Sport, it adds that Milan
officials "are planning to meet Reds chiefs at the end of the season in
the hope of securing a permanent deal or an extended loan for the
25-year-old."
Balotelli, it adds,
has pleased the powers that be at the club "with his workrate in recent
games" and stresses that he "will be out to impress in the club's
final three Serie A fixtures against Frosinone, Bologna and Roma, followed by the Coppa
Italia final against Juventus."
Radamel to roam to Rome?
Talking of strikers
and Serie A clubs, Radamel Falcao could be set to make a new start with Roma, according
to the Sun.
It says they are
interested in signing the Colombian, who is currently on loan to Chelsea but still belongs to Monaco,
and believe he would be a good potential replacement for ex-Manchester City
man Edin Dzeko if he moves on
But it quotes
Corriere dello Sport as saying that although the interest is there, Falcao's
reported wage demands -- not thought to be far off £5.5 million -- are
"putting them off" and could be a major stumbling block.
They also have
concerns about how little first-team football he has played for Chelsea after an injury suffered in October kept him out
of action until the Blues' recent defeat at Swansea.
Palace to face Man United in FA Cup final
London - Connor Wickham
headed Crystal Palace
into the FA Cup final for the first time in 26 years as his team beat Watford 2-1 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
The south London side will meet
Manchester United on May 21 in a repeat of the 1990 final, which United won
after a replay.
United beat Everton 2-1
on Saturday in the other semi-final.
Yannick Bolasie headed
Palace ahead in the 6th minute after a corner from Yohan Cabaye was flicked on
at the near post by Damien Delaney.
Watford drew level in the 55th
when striker Troy Deeney out-jumped Palace defender Scott Dann to head past
Palace goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey.
Wickham put Palace
ahead in the 61st after he easily out-jumped Watford
defender Nathan Ake to meet Papa Souare's sweeping cross.
